As a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon), my goal has always been to go the temple and receive my endowment. It's a very special and sacred opportunity that one has to prove worthy of. I was able to go down to the Mesa Temple last Wednesday, June 17, 2009, and what a beautiful experience it was. My son and daughter-in-law were there to support me, for which I was most grateful; after all, it was my daughter-in-law, Brittany, who was the cause of my son joining the church, and thus me, for which I'll always be thankful. I was specially blessed to have a very dear friend from high school days make a special trip to attend as my escort. Ellen was always my role model as the "ideal" Mormon, and it was she who gave me my first Book of Mormon. It only took me about 35 years to finally catch on!

It was a lovely day (and not too hot); many ward and stake friends made the drive down to attend. It was really neat to see that show of support. Afterward, many of us got together for lunch to celebrate. All in all, a wonderful day!As a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon), my goal has always been to go the temple and receive my endowment.
