2nd Day in Tucson

I awoke this morning, at 7:30, to the sounds of Kaiden talking to the toys in his crib. What a precious baby boy! It was fun to get him up, and then play with him while his parents went back to bed for a few more minutes of much-needed sleep. Then we went to the mall, where Kaiden proceeded to charm the Verizon saleslady - he was made an honorary salesperson. Then back home where after a short nap he really turned on the charm, providing the evening's entertainment. I've never seen such a happy baby!

Kaiden at (almost) 9 months!

Kaiden's bathtime! He's enjoying discovering certain parts of his body and entertaining the ladies (mom, grandmother and aunt Sarah). Later, all clean and shiny, he puts on another show for us - clearly a highly evolved, intelligent child!

Great website!

I just discovered a website called "Pinching Your Pennies", www.pinchingyourpennies.com. There are lots of great deals on there, plus some "insider" scoops you won't find anywhere else. Currently they are running a contest to win an iPod Touch - cool!

As a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon), my goal has always been to go the temple and receive my endowment. It's a very special and sacred opportunity that one has to prove worthy of. I was able to go down to the Mesa Temple last Wednesday, June 17, 2009, and what a beautiful experience it was. My son and daughter-in-law were there to support me, for which I was most grateful; after all, it was my daughter-in-law, Brittany, who was the cause of my son joining the church, and thus me, for which I'll always be thankful. I was specially blessed to have a very dear friend from high school days make a special trip to attend as my escort. Ellen was always my role model as the "ideal" Mormon, and it was she who gave me my first Book of Mormon. It only took me about 35 years to finally catch on!

It was a lovely day (and not too hot); many ward and stake friends made the drive down to attend. It was really neat to see that show of support. Afterward, many of us got together for lunch to celebrate. All in all, a wonderful day!As a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon), my goal has always been to go the temple and receive my endowment. Happy times with Kaiden and family

This is the evening of Kaiden's baby blessing at church, which was a joyful and blessed experience. Now most everybody has gone home and I'm privileged to share a relaxed Sabbath evening with my grandson and his family.

Kaiden's baby blessing

It was a beautiful Sunday morning in Tucson as we gathered in Nick & Brittany's backyard to take some photos before we left for church.

My Valentine

Well, today is Valentine's Day, also known in some circles as Singles' Awareness Day (SAD). I've always preferred to think of today as Arizona Statehood Day - Arizona was the 48th state admitted to the Union, on Feb. 14, 1912.

I don't have lots of fond memories of romantic Valentine's days, except for one year. I was in high school, and my boyfriend made me my very own set of arrows (we were archers). He had cut them and fletched them just for me. I still think that's the best Valentine's Day present I ever received!
